X-ray Lasers or Gamma Lasers

Published by Maien at 5:09 pm under General, Physics Edit This

X - ray lasers and gamma lasers cannot be constructed as the spontaneous emission probability coefficient A is very very high.A is very large as it is proportional to v^3.So it is very very difficult to create population inversion.

Production of laser beam depends on stimulated emission.the emission of photons that occurs following excitation of electron in a system is usually spontaneous and cant be controlled .stimulated emission of a process whereby an incoming photon of energy have can stimulate an electron in a high energy state to low energy state and its frequency will be same as stimulating photon and travels in same direction.and the more electron in high energy level both stimulating and stimulated photons can cause further emission and narrow beam of monochromatic radiation.
