Persuasive issues to look at

Published by Maien at 3:40 pm under General, Philosophy, Q & A, Resources Edit This

Are certain persuasive issues not appropriate for debate speech topics?

I mean , is every topic debatable? Can a logical conclusion be derived from every debate?or just let it be as it exists? Some argue fervently or in jest or anger and to some it’s an opportunity to pass the time. Some look at it as an exit for pent-up frustrations & some as a window to knowledge or to show off. I look at it from different angles at different times, depending on my mood at the moment. I’m not generally persuaded by whatever is put by anyone into Wikipedia or various websites which are often quoted as an authority or whatever appears in the news/print media or TV channels.
Some profiles here are for nothing but to propagate a political party or a certain religious view and some derive pleasure by harassing others/their minds. The purported “Healthy” debates turn into serious acrimony & bitterness. It shouldn’t be that way at all. What’s the harm in making friends all around ? I’ve found a lot of help in my new profession from Orkut profiles. Why not use this great medium for our betterment than acrimony ?

The purpose of a debate is not to arrive at a conclusion. The purpose of a debate is to put forward ideas and thoughts and facts of two conflicting issues so that evry1’s point of view is heard. he participants and audience may then come to their own “informed conclusion”.
