The way we used to experience cinemas in theaters is changed since last decade. New technology to perceive 3D movies, surround sounds and picture quality is improved as well. Dolby can be found is almost every digital theater in city. It’s like Dolby is defacto standard in theaters.
Let’s talk about hottest technology in theater world that is IMAX. It is one of the most advanced motion picture projection system. This system was invented in Canada, and it will soon replace traditional theaters. It is used by more than 230 theatres in America and europe. Soon rest of the world will adopt it as well.

IMAX frame is 10 times larger than traditional 35-mm frame. Seats are arranged such manner that viewer will enjoy movie experience to the max. There is lot of interesting information about IMAX. Head over to wikipedia for relevant links.

This is second post about the videos related to physics. I’ve already posted some videos here about vortex rings and other such stuff. This post will be about Non-Newtonian fluid, Meissner effect, Diamagnetic levitation. Do suggest me some good videos.
Non-Newtonian fluid
Awesome movie about the dynamical properties of non-Newtonian fluids.

Meissner effect
Nice movie showing the exclusion of magnetic flux from a superconductor (Meissner effect):

Diamagnetic levitation
Videos of live frogs and other diamagnets levitated in a strong magnetic field

Video of levitating pyrolytic graphite

Video of a piece of neodymium magnet levitating between blocks of bismuth

Hope you enjoyed first and second part of videos related to physics.

This post is about the videos related to physics. I’ve gathered this various sources. In this first post i’ll post about Chladni patterns,Ferromagnetic fluids,Magic sand and Vortex rings.
Chladni patterns
A vibrating table sprinkled with salt forms patterns (called Chladni patterns) due to the accumulation of the salt along the nodal lines.

Explanations here: http://www.physics.utoronto.ca/nonlinear/chladni.html
(and in one of my favorite physics books: “Vibrations and Waves” by A. P. French)
=====
Ferromagnetic fluids
Two movies showing the interesting properties of ferromagnetic fluids. These show patterns resembling Chladni patterns.

=====
Magic sand
Movie showing a hydrophobic material, in sand form.

=====
Vortex Rings
Some interesting videos showing vortex rings in water:
Done by a diver:

Dolphins make them too, for fun!
